How Ben & Jerry's Can Save Your Disastrous Dinner Date

October 21, 2016

  • Regardless of who you are, or where you come from, everyone has the idea of the perfect dinner date. Perhaps you imagine a romantic dinner date with the 10/10 of your dreams or the first >5/10 you found on Tinder (we won’t judge).

  • It's Always a Good Back Up!

While dinner parties can be a blast and go off without a hitch – you’ve gotta admit, it’s the disastrous, unpredictable, “I regret everything” kind that tend to happen more often than not. Like when Liz steps up and decides that she’s going to feed the party with a stir fry that she tried at a friend’s 18 months ago. 1 hour and 45 minutes later, you’re wasting away and scrolling through Foodora.

  • It Helps You See the Funny Side!

Or maybe you’re with the person of your dreams - you’re staring into their eyes – your gaze unmoving. Not because you’ve fallen in love, but because you’re trying to avoid the chunk of basil wedged in their teeth.

If you’re going to break the news of terrible cooking or wayward greens – you may need something sweet to soften the blow… (You can see where we’re heading with this – right?!)

  • There is Always Room For Dessert!

Dessert, of course, is always the epic climax (or one of them – depending…)  of any dinner date. If you disagree, that’s totally fine – we’ll just never understand why. But real talk: when we say “there’s always room for dessert” – we mean “don’t give up hope for the date just yet”.

  • Take a Sad Date, and Make It Better!

When nothing goes right - TGFI (Thank God For Ice Cream). Ice cream is the perfect way to turn that bad dinner date into one that may actually be slightly bearable.

If Liz’ cooking left a bad taste in your mouth, wash it out with Salted Caramel Core.

  • It Gives You a Way Out!

When your partner takes you out to a nice restaurant only to break up with you on neutral ground,  drown your sorrows in a pint of Phish Food.

The next time Grandma is 3 drinks in and getting her dance on – ducking out for ice cream is your new excuse to evacuate the premises.

Have you used ice cream to take the edge off a terrible, no good, very bad date? Let us know!
